A FILIPINO expatriate would have drowned in the swimming pool of his River Valley condominium on Sunday had it not been for his neighbour, who pulled him out and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Mr Mark Dee, an assistant brand manager with Unilever Singapore who looks to be in his 20s, regained consciousness and threw up. He was taken to hospital.
He was out of intensive care yesterday, but is still on a respirator.
His condition is still unstable, said his family, who declined to say more.
The man who saved him, Mr Mark Watson, said that he had just returned to his sixth-floor apartment at Park Avenue Suites after having Sunday brunch when he saw Mr Dee thrashing about in the 2m-deep end of the pool a floor below.
Mr Watson, the chief executive of Watson Property Group, said: ‘I wasn’t sure if he was just playing about, but my partner told me to check.’
